I was informed by office personnel that office consult fee would be $200.00 & lawyers fee would be 7500. 00 for my case. I informed personnel that I did not have full amt. She reassured me it was okay to pay 100.00 at visit and would make arrangements for the rest of 200.00 consult fee. This dis...cussed in Feb. So, went office visit this month April and when, I finished consult, I was told that it would be 500.00. 250.00 per hour. I was shocked but I paid what I ccould hich was only 200.00. So, I decided to call the office personnel to find out what had happened and why the fees had changed. I told her I thought you quoted the above fee to me when appt was made. She never told me that the consult fee would be hourly. She abruptly told me that she had been working with this lawyer for 21 years and she has never told anyone that. Never apologized, so I told her it seems like we are getting off on the wrong foot, so I won't be needing the services. She abruptly told okay and good luck. Just rude. No professionalism at all.

I'm writing this review to let all others beware of this lady. My wife and I hired Lise Kaplan as our attorney over four years ago. Within the past few years we have given her over $30,000. She prolongs cases for NO reason at all and keeps you sitting in her office for an unreasonable amount of time.... She dropped us as her client without given any explanation why after getting all that money out of us.

Sure wished i would have read these reviews before I chose Mrs Kaplan. She charged me 7300.00 for a divorce that I got nothing from. Yes i am now divorced, but she charged for everything, from emails to making copies, to even brief 15 minute phone calls. She never informed me that my divorce proces...s was going to jump from 4000.00 to 7300.00 until i got her bill in the mail. I would never recommed Lise Kaplan to ANYONE. You would think that if your bill was going to jump up 3300.00 that she, being a professional would atleast notify you in advance. There is nothing I can do about it now, but atleast give anyone who is thinking about hiring Mrs Kaplan for her services some advice and that advice is DONT DO IT...CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE..SHE WILL GET YOU DIVORCED BUT SHE WILL DO ANYTHING SHE CAN TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE SHE CARES AND IS WORKING FOR YOU, WHEN IN REALITY SHE DOES NOTHING BUT TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY AND THEN SOME.

I used, Lise around 4 yrs ago. I just ran across this review and found it humorous that I went through the same exact thing. She did return my calls, but that did not really matter because she did not seem very knowlegeable about the divorce process. She suggested that I go to mediation, of which too...k 7 hours, and still ended up with nothing. And to top it off I came out paying her around 5k. She charged for everything including the process of reading and responding to emails. Thanks but I wouldn't recommend her to represent me in any case.
