Rex Barron Abernathy

Hired him through his associates. It was and still is an act of congress to get him or anyone to return calls, texts, emails. I had to do the majority of the work. Never until the last day did he even have contact with the defendant. Was going to sell him out until I went off. Said he made a deal. ...Well he nor the others didn’t have the authority to promise what he told. It was a lie I can prove it. He even filled out the questionnaire for the defendant so he could hurry and leave. The defendant was not aware of this nor I. The defendant has TBI issues. He really didn’t understand it all. But agreed per the attorney. The attorney never sought other options even after I told him to. Afterwards he said he always keeps up with his clients after the fact. WRONG! There is so much more I could say but I’m wore out right now because I’M fighting for the person that was lied to and done wrong. MR. REX is ALL ABOUT THAT MONEY. I’ve learned my lesson with him.

By far the worst excuse for a criminal defense attorney I have ever experienced. He will take your money and run like the other reviews say. I should have done my homework. And when it’s time to close the case he will strike a loo sided deal with the prosecutors to benefit him and not allow you to sp...eak. And if you so step up like I did he will throw a tantrum and say if you don’t take the deal I will step down as your attorney. He works for the state while robbing his clients.

Rex Abernathy does not communicate at all! My brother hired Rex Abernathy to defend him because he was told by many people that he was the best defense attorney in the state, I have no idea how he achieved this reputation. My brother and his fiance paid Mr. Abernathy $8,000.00 and expected to have a...ctual meetings and at the very least phone communication with the man but instead he left him in the jail for 4 months with no meeting until the day before the court date and then talked him into taking a deal assuring him that if he took a two year deal that he would be out in 3 or 4 months at the most rather than pushing for going to drug rehab which is where he should be to start with. My brother got hooked on drugs and is not a hardened criminal, while he did need to pay for breaking the law it should have been in a rehab program not incarceration. Mr. Abernathy hasn't done one thing to stand up for his client now that he knows the prison is ignoring the judges orders to count the 6 months from intinital time of arrest plus the 4 months he sat in jail waiting on his court date (so much for a speedy trial) as time served towards his 2 year term which would allow him to get out sooner and get help sooner to avoid being drawn back into the situation . Mr. Abernathy also assured my brother would go to a medical prison because he is terminally ill but of course that didn't happen either. I'd like to know what he did to earn his money. He won't return calls or text messages and never shows up, texts or calls back when his staff says he will. If you want good representation please go elsewhwere!!!! Save yourself the hardship!!!!!!!

Mr. Abernathy has been our families attorney for several years now he has represented myself on personal injury cases as well as criminal matters with my son. He is currently working on a wrongful death case for my family now. If it hadn't been for Mr. Abernathy's knowledge of the law my son could ha...ve been sent off for something he was wrongfully charged with. Rex got the case thrown out against my son. I extremely recommend Mr. Abernathy for any services any one needs. He is the best attorney in state Georgia.
