Tommy D. Goddard

Tommy D. Goddard has lived in Dalton, Georgia his entire life. He is a 1976 graduate of Northwest Whitfield High School. Tommy graduated cum laude from The University of Georgia in 1980 with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism, and graduated cum laude from The University of Georgia School of Law in 1983 with a Juris Doctorate of Law. Tommy was admitted to practice law before the Superior Courts in Georgia on June 11, 1983. He was admitted to practice law before the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court on September 29, 1983, and he was admitted to practice law before the Federal Court for Northern District of Georgia on June 28, 1983. After having served in good standing with those courts for approximately 10 years, Tommy was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America on June 21, 1993. Tommy has been given the highest rating (AV) for attorneys by the leading authority on such ratings, Martindale-Hubbell.

Tommy is presently the senior partner at Goddard and Hammontree in Dalton, Georgia. The firm was founded as a workers’ compensation practice but now branches out into all aspects of personal injury law.

He is the husband of the former Anita Payne of Cuthbert, Georgia. He and Anita have two children, Taylor Goddard Kelly and Christian Payne Goddard. Taylor, his daughter, has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood education from Lee University, and a Master’s degree in Learning, Design and Technology For K-12 from The University of Georgia and she works for Usborne Books & More. Taylor is presently living in Norfolk Virginia serving her country by being married to Naval Petty Officer First Class Mark Kelly. Taylor has two children, Scotlyn and Slater. Tommy’s son, Christian, has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Religion from Lee University. Christian is currently working in the rapidly growing movie industry in Georgia. Anita is the principle of Christian Heritage High School In Dalton, Georgia. Tommy and Anita are members for Rock Bridge Community Church.

Tommy’s main focus is in the area of Georgia Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability/SSI, and Adoptions (both domestic and international).

Tommy is a member of the State Bar Association of Georgia and he is also an active member in good standing with the Conasauga Bar Association.
