J. Lane Bearden

I am a fourth-generation resident of Gordon County, Georgia, and my trial practice is in Calhoun, Georgia. I have appeared in all state and federal courts in northwest Georgia. My sister and my two sons are also attorneys (and our daughter is a wonderful ceramics artist). 

My clients primarily consist of individuals and families in personal injury, wrongful death, and victim's rights cases. I have tried more personal injury cases to a jury than any other attorney in Gordon County, and have received the largest individual injury damages jury verdict in the history of Gordon County. 

I served as Juvenile Court judge from 1990 until I retired from that position in 2021. I now write about juvenile law, and am always interested in taking precedent-setting juvenile cases. 

I am engaged in a variety of other cases in Northwest Georgia, and have done enviornmental law, criminal defense, and government/civil rights cases. 

Personal: I have been married since 1989 to Carol Jones Bearden, and we have raised three talented children. We have three welsh corgis and are involved in animal rescue. I have been involved in scholastic speech and debate competitions for 50 years - as a competitor, coach and judge. In my spare time I am a photographer, and enjoy covering concerts, sports and nature.
