Failed to properly prepare documents. Failed to properly correspond. Failed to "speak up" in court. Failed to prepare for court. Acted as though he were afraid to speak. Would look at floor, adjust tie, cleared throat. Failed to introduce argument that was agreed upon. Would charge me for the time sp...ent correcting his and his offices mistakes. ( Funny how when you fire an attorney their fees magically equal the retainer they have already received) His results could not have been worse. I know and understand results can't be guaranteed, but I KNOW that it was his ineffectiveness at understanding the law, his miserable communication and follow up and his hideous performance in court that encouraged the outcome. I have had 4 attorneys since Mr. Mingledorff and ALL of them were a considerably better experience. Going in to court to set a child support amount, I had already been paying (x) amount during our separation, and I fully expected the amount to be decreased as I was unemployed, and just trying to keep a roof and a bedroom for my daughter every other weekend, ( had been sleeping in my office just a few months before). Instead,.. my child support didn't go down, OR stay the same,.. it went UP! and if that wasn't enough an arrearage was attached and placed on top of the new MUCH larger amount! This situation lasted about 7 months before I just could not hold onto the house anymore, Barely keeping my head above water at the time and I was foreclosed on. For YEARS now It has been a constant, NON-STOP, trying to keep up while still doing everything I can to stay a part of my daughter's life struggle. NO money to file for modifications!! This original, abysmal performance by Mr. Mingledorff is a large part of what has become an ongoing nightmare. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have good counsel from the very beginning! It has cost me dearly to climb out of the whole he helped to create. Please folks, do NOT utilize this man's services ( or lack thereof ). There are MUCH better lawyers out there. I know! He made NO argument in court! He took my retainer, filed a few documents, showed up totally unprepared, and acted afraid to make any arguments,....... Thank you,... next,....
