I graduated summa cum laude, the highest academic distinction, from Georgia State University College of Law. While at Georgia State, I was a member of the Student Trial Lawyers Association and the Georgia State Law Review.
Upon graduation, I was named to the Order of the Coif (for exceptional academic performance) and to the Order of Barristers (for exceptional oral advocacy), making me one of only four Georgia State Law students to ever receive both honors.
My practice has focused primarily on medical malpractice and wrongful death, and I am admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia, as well as all other trial and appellate courts in the State of Georgia and the Northern District of Georgia federal court.

We hired Brian and would highly recommend him. Brian and his paralegal, Evie were both very professional and responsive. He is a fighter and I mean that in a good way!

I hired Brian for an auto accident. The most impressive take away was Brian's honest work ethic. There are a lot of "ambulance chasers" out there but Brian proves that you can still find an honest and effective injury attorney. He proves you don't need to lie or be shady in order to win big cash sett...

Brian examines each case he gets with detail and ensures that EVERY “i” is dotted and “t” crossed before a demand letter is sent. I know that when I refer a case to him, the client will be in a better place than before meeting Brian. I always recommend Brian whenever a medical malpractice issue comes...

Brian is an incredible attorney. He will go the extra mile and is willing to fight for his clients. He keeps you updated on what is going on and breaks down the legal jargon in a way that is understandable. Highly recommend.
"Brian is not only great at the practice of law, he’s great at connecting, relating, and communicating with clients. He’s as authentic as they come and his ability to connect with clients on a genuine level helps them feel understood and heard. It also helps him successfully tell their stories because he sincerely feels it like others cannot. Great lawyer. Better guy."
"Brian is an excellent person and an excellent attorney. He is passionate and is a skilled negotiator and advocate with real world experience and exceptional legal knowledge."
"Medical Malpractice litigation is a world unto itself and requires an attorney with extensive experience in this field. Brian Cathey is that attorney. Not only is he knowledgeable and highly competent as litigator, but he is a zealous advocate as well. Anyone that hires him for a medical malpractice case can be assured he will work tirelessly to achieve the best result possible."
"Brian is a stand up man and will not only work hard and fight for you, he will use his intelligence to identify all potential acts of negligence and sources of recovery to best maximize the value for your life altering circumstance."
"Brian is a former student of mine so I know he's well trained :-). He has become an outstanding lawyer and in the few years since graduating has elevated himself to be a top notch advocate for injured people. Brian would be an excellent choice for your case."
