But then, when court was scheduled once again, she insisted on mediation stating the judge would be unhappy with us if we didn’t at least try. She had demanded another several thousand dollars in advance above our initial bill which was already several thousand paid in advance. Once it was paid in full, she went to mediation and informed us that we needed to take the agreement or give her thousands more in order to take it to trial. So here we are, worse off than we were more than a year ago, out over $10,000 between what she charged and additional legal fees, and we got nothing we asked for while he got everything. AND our entire retirement savings is gone. (I’m 67). She wouldn’t respond to either calls or texts, and was constantly talking about needing us to give her more money. She also constantly talked about her personal life even while we were waiting to go into all meetings and the courtroom.
