I apologize that you feel this way about our firm. Criminal defense has been my passion since graduating law school over 12 years ago. I became a public defender after law school and worked in that capacity for seven years. As a public defender I represented the underserved and underprivileged population. I defended people charged with crimes ranging from attempted murder to simple misdemeanors. I tried jury cases and handled on a regular basis felony and misdemeanor matters. I am licensed to practice in the Georgia and New York State courts as well as several Federal Courts in those states. Please do not be mistaken because I’m a Spanish speaking Latina attorney who loves immigration work that I am not also an experienced criminal defense attorney. As an immigrant myself I am passionate about protecting the immigration status of my non-citizen clients. For that reason, my firm handles both criminal and immigration cases. It is impossible to separate the two when you are representing a non-citizen. As such, do not be misguided when I give immigration advice on a criminal matter. It is my responsibility and ethical duty to do so because the effects of a criminal conviction can cause irreparable damages to an undocumented or non-citizen individual.
