Destin Michelle Gillum

Before anyone decides to hire Ms. Destin Gillum I just wanted to bring awareness to the fact that this lawyer has hired someone who was let go from her past recent job due to a “fireable offensive.” I believe this makes it a conflict of interest considering she hires her clients immediate family memb...ers? This just seems very inappropriate… So I urge you to please think twice before hiring this lawyer. Who is to say that the person Ms. Gillum hired won’t be looking into attorney client files to be nosy? I wonder if this person stated to her new employment why she got fired from her previous job.

We retained Destin for a crucial legitimation/custody case and paid her $2500 retainer just to get started. She failed to respond to ANY of my emails and failed to follow through with 3 scheduled phone calls. Basically she did nothing. We contacted her for advice when I was summoned for a hearing to ...take place in 3 business days in Fla where my girlfriend was hiding with my child to determine how she would handle that or if she could not - what we needed to do in the 3 days we had before appearance. Both my mother and I expressed concern and urgency to no avail. We heard NOTHING from her and were forced to terminate her representation and seek another attorney on an urgent basis. We got more help over the phone with a firm we had not retained than we ever got from Ms Gilliam. Now as we are trying to get refunded she still has not replied to a SINGLE email or phone call and it is our intention to report our experience to the bar. DO NOT waste your time with this attorney!
