I used Tricia as my divorce attorney after my husband started a dirty divorce battle. My life appeared shattered at that time. I had never needed an attorney and didnt understand their importance. I used her because she was local and an friend suggested her. And mostly I was in such emotional turm...oil that I didn't have the strategies in mind to "battle". I was just feeling hurt and trusted her to do her part. That was a mistake. Tricia ignored phone record evidence that I offered of my husband having an affair and wouldn't use it in court. I have her a recording of him apologizing for abusing me. She said to never listen to it again and wouldn't use it. I was dumb enough to think that sure knew what she was doing. I still have no idea why she wouldn't fight for me. He was afraid of these details and used them against me in court by suggestion, yet I had physical evidence she wouldn't use to support that he was doing these things not me. She failed to protect me. She failed to let me know her strategy. She failed to tell me what me options for responding to his dirty game were. There were others I would have taken had I been educated. She failed at communicating on my behalf to the judge. She wasn't timely with getting evidence submitted and sometimes didn't submit at all. So things that supported me were useless to the court. She suggested she knew the judge and other lawyer and knew how to play the game. A political games wasn't required, but someone who represented the truth and her client to the court was all that was needed for the win. Her lack of professionalism and ability to represent me to the court kept me worried and caused me to take a deal with my ex husband that I regret to this day. I wake again this morning, accepting where I am, but wishing I would have known more about what was needed in a divorce lawyer and wishing I had the strength to move to a different lawyer. She charged me 14,000.00. I could have gotten unbiased, more prepared, more professional, lawyers who fought for and represented my children and I at all cost. When you select a lawyer you are selecting someone to speak for you, to represent your past and your future. Someone to know the strategies necessary to win your side of the case. They must educate you on what your options are. They should be able to clearly outline their role and yours in this battle. They should be professional. Tricia was a HUGE disappointment. My life has been forever changed because of her lack of strategy, knowledge, aggressiveness, and professionalism. I realize that negative reports aren't popular and many people won't write them but I couldn't keep quiet any longer. In some way I needed to protect the next parent from the same experience I had with Tricia in hope that you find better results. Blessings in your battle. I will make my review anonymous because we live and play in the same town. However, I do plan to make an appointment with Tricia to tell her how her lack of professionalism and "guts" affected my life. With hopes to improve her ongoing practice and encourage her of her duty to her clients.
