TPO Case

I first hired Natalie back in November of 2021 after my previous divorce attorney failed to represent me in an ethical manner. I remember when I wrote that review saying how much I appreciated everything Natalie did in that situation to take over my case and hit the ground running. In the end, after ...a nine-month divorce that I thought was never going to end, Natalie not only protected me but got me far more than what I was expecting in the divorce settlement. She fought for me as hard as any attorney can fight for their client. Fast forward to Aug. 29, 2024. I had the Hall County Sheriff's Office serve me with a temporary protective order; the reason that was given was stalking. At that time I had not seen my ex-wife in person for over three years except when it was needed once during the divorce. There has never been a previous protective order filed against me during the divorce or at any time in my life. So of course my first call was to Natalie because there was no way I was going to defend myself. This is when I first spoke with Heather. I can tell you Heather had her hands full for at least 15 minutes. She did a wonderful job calming me down, and throughout my entire case, she was amazing when it came to keeping my mindset on track. Heather was meticulous when going over the submitted discovery from both sides The day of our hearing, it became clear what opposing counsel was going to attempt. To have me sit through hours of testimony in what I felt was just an attempt to have me react. Natalie, right before our case was next on the docket, took action and opened the door to negotiate an agreement with opposing counsel. Natalie taking action saved me from sitting through hours of testimony. Once we notified the judge, he allowed settlement talks to begin. For hours Natalie battled to get this protective order dropped and to get an agreement that we wanted. Two things were very important to me: not having this filed with the state and not having my firearms taken away. I do a lot of competition shooting, and if this order had succeeded, I would have had to surrender my firearms. In the end, after hard-fought negotiations, Natalie got me exactly what I wanted. Natalie got the agreement we wanted and the terms we wanted.   Before negotiations, when Heather thought I was going to have to sit through hours of testimony, she took me aside and talked to me about how to handle this situation. I really appreciated that because I had never experienced anything like this before. Heather said everything to get me in the right mindset. Thanks to Natalie, hours of testimony never happen. I also feel this was very important because Natalie was able to prevent me from having to answer questions about my post-divorce personal life. That was another important issue for me. Who would want their ex-wife to know about their personal life three years after a separation? Nobody. The thirty-day protective order that I was originally served, Natalie petitioned to have it permanently sealed due to sensitive information. The judge assigned to our case agreed, and now that has been sealed. Natalie negotiated a civil agreement that kept me out of any database, and there are no restrictions on my firearms now or in the future. The two issues that were the most important to me, Natalie and her team came through for me again. When you are caught off guard by something like this, it can really have an impact. However, once I got to speak to Natalie and knew she had the time to take on my case, that went a long way in making me feel better about the entire situation. If you have a family law issue, you don’t need to look any further. The first decision you will need to make in a situation like this is hiring the right person to represent you. Natalie is always going to be the right person.

Amazing lawyer!!!

If you are seeking a divorce, Natalie is the lawyer you should get to do it. My now ex husband was very difficult. I went through 2 lawyers before Natalie that couldn't get me what I needed. He is a violent individual and in my divorce I asked for a temporary restraining order and sole legal and phys...ical custody. She negotiated everything and the judge granted my terms. She was professional every step of the way. Her paralegal Gina Rios was amazing as well. Natalie was sensitive to my concerns, and she was my shoulder to cry on througout the process. I cannot say enough good things about her. I will recommend her to anyone needing legal help.
