Daniel Brent Snipes

I hired Mr. Snipes to represent me in a criminal case against my abusive husband. Before I paid him $17,850 he said he was going to hire expert witnesses, keep me informed of all my case information and speak to people relevant to my case. Mr. Daniel Brent Snipes did none of this! I can not even get... him to hand over my case information so I can appeal without taking him to court. I wrote him emails letting him know my concerns that he didn't have all case information and his reply was that he felt good about my case, until the day before trial when he continually shoved a plea down my throat (figuratively). I was petrified to go to court without him having adequate information for my case and I had no more money to hire another attorney, so I agreed to take the plea. After court I refused to sign the plea since it was not what he told me so he filed a motion to withdraw the plea AND as my attorney. I didn't want him to represent me anymore so I helped him withdraw as counsel then he refused to do what he said and get my plea withdrawn. I have emails and phone calls with him that prove he didn't do anything he said he would. He ruined my future with his lack of commitment to my case and the lies about expert witnesses...etc.. He seems to have NO problem thinking this is acceptable behavior from someone representing someone else's life. My case would have been immunity based on self defense if he'd have done what he said. He told my family, friends and myself this so he treated my case and myself as if it wasn't important. The thought of him being able to do this to someone else and to take NO responsibility for his lack of representation really concerns me. PLEASE, do not trust this attorney with your case. He didn't even get the 911 calls from our home we had just sold, or the alarm audio from the house we had just purchased; Not to mention the fact that his Brilliant idea was for me to sign over my portion of the house we had just purchased to my husband (of 20 years) and his girlfriend. He might as well of requested we go to the parking lot and let my husband finish the job of trying to kill me with the 12" knife! This has cost me more money trying to fix his mess and 13 months in jail a Felony on my record and 20 years of probation, not to mention my home that my husband didn't produce 1 cent to purchase since we were financially separated due to his spending habits. Snipes should not be allowed to represent anyone after he botched this case so badly. An appeal is 25k just for the retainer fee not to mention the fee to trial IF I win. I wish I never would have hired him, PLEASE save your money if it not a contingency case that affects his bottom line he doesn't care about you or your case.
