Shannon hails from Nashville, TN. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where her coursework concentrated in the areas of International Relations and Pre-Law. She earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Georgia State University College of Law, and is admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia.
Shannon worked in Kigali, Rwanda, as a Legal Intern for the Senior Transactions Adviser of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB). In this capacity, she reviewed and assisted in the drafting and negotiation of many multi-million dollar public-private ventures-including contracts for joint ventures, procurement and distribution, technology management services, manufacturing, and product implementation.
Prior to attending law school, Shannon worked as a consultant for small businesses and nonprofit organizations gaining substantial experience in business development, strategic planning, program management, and funds development.
Shannon serves as Member-At-Large and Scholarship Breakfast Chair of the DeKalb Lawyers Association. She is a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia, and the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers and Business Law Divisions. She also volunteers with MicroMentor, where she serves as a mentor for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
