Amanda Heusner Klier

Amanda H. Klier is an Associate Attorney in MendenFreiman LLP's Trust and Estate Administration practice areas. Known for her ability to merge her work on very complex estate issues with her natural compassion, Amanda finds that the opportunity to support her clients through the challenges of loss is a very fulfilling experience.

Amanda has shepherded her clients through the probate process in situations that have ranged from simple to complex with estate values of just a few thousand dollars to many millions of dollars.

Recent matters include:

• The considerate and skillful guidance of a client through the probate, estate administration and estate tax process after the tragic death of the client's 35-year-old husband, who passed away without a Will.
• The successful validation of a twenty-year old Will through a lengthy and complicated search for the stranger who had witnessed the document and who was unknown to the surviving spouse.
• The successful resolution of a contentious estate involving the executor and the beneficiary, two friends of the deceased who intensely disliked and distrusted each other.

Amanda received her Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 2007 and her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Mass Communications from Quinnipiac University in 2000. While at Syracuse, Amanda was a Student Attorney in the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, President of the Tax Society, and Research Assistant to the Senior Associate Dean. She also earned certificates in Estate Planning and Family Law.  Her peers recently selected her as a Rising Star among Georgia’s Super Lawyers.

Prior to joining our firm, Amanda assisted individuals with the drafting of their estate planning documents including Wills, Advanced Healthcare Directives and Financial Powers of Attorney through her work with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. She is a member of the New York State Bar, Georgia State Bar and Atlanta Bar Association Estate Planning and Probate Section.
