Chris Vance.... just the best

I never take the time to write reviews, much less for a lawyer....BUT...I had to take the time to say how much I think Chris Vance is the best lawyer there is for child advocacy. We hired her when my son (disabled) was being abused in the school. We heard about Chris, met with her and instantly ...knew that she was the one to get things done for our son. We were never sorry for a minute. She was and is the best advocate for Special Needs children. She knows the laws inside and out. Chris is very assertive. She was extremely responsive to any and all questions / issues we had. She is extremely smart. Her services are all about the child and getting what the kids need....never about her ego, money or anything else. I would hire her again in a New York minute. I just wish I could go to her with ALL issues that would require a lawyer. I have read the other reviews and see that they were untrue. I cannot see how anyone could post anything but positive comments regarding Chris. BUT, knowing the schools as well as I do, I am suspecting that those posts were done by the school and NOT anyone that has ever interacted with her.

Spec. Ed. Advocate

Mrs. Vance helped us with my daughter with Dyslexia. The school district could not teach her to read. We worked with them for 3 years. Finally privately placed her at Lindamood-bell for 12 weeks and they caught up her 2 and half year gap. This changed Angela's life. I will forever be grateful to... Chris Vance for helping us over a two year period. She was honest, professional, smart and knew how to handle the school district.

If You Need the BEST Educational Attorney, Hire Chris

Being a parent of a Special Needs Child is one of the most difficult things I've ever done. Navigating the Georgia educational IEP process is the worst experience I've ever encountered. It was necessary to include an attorney in order to get even the most basic needs met for my unique child. I fi...nd Chris Vance to be the only attorney who understands educational needs, focuses solely on the child, and fights for the outcome of children. Beyond receiving appropriate educational services for my child, I worked with Chris as an advocate to meet needs of other children. Time after time children met their potential because Chris understood their needs and held the school district accountable to meet those needs. She is one of the few attorneys in Georgia who will hold school districts accountable. In fact many school personnel told me in private that they would hire Chris Vance if they had a special needs child. It appears there are some school districts and attorneys putting false negative reviews in an attempt to dissuade parents from using Chris as their attorney and I understand why. Chris will not compromise the needs of a child simply to get along with the School District or other attorneys. She isn't part of the Georgia "Good Ole Boy" network who works behind closed doors with the district and other attorneys to get along. She demands school districts follow Special Education Law in meeting the unique needs of each child while holding districts accountable for measurable outcome to ensure your child reaches their potential as dictated by law. Should you be in need of a Special Education Attorney, I highly recommend Chris Vance.

Billing problems

I hired Chris Vance to represent my son for a special education issue. She was very confrontational with school district and her fees rose unexpectedly. At the end of the day, I didn't get the accommodations, the school staff stopped being helpful and I had a big bill to pay.

Huge Mistake!!

Hired Ms. Vance to represent my son. She managed to accomplish absolutely nothing for him, but did manage to cash her $7,000 retainer check! She attended one IEP meeting and was confrontational with school staff and a complete embarrassment! She was a no-show for the second meeting and left me on ...my own! DO NOT HIRE HER!! She is out only for money! She will tell you what you want to hear, as long as you keep paying her!!
