I handle both misdemeanors and felonies in the superior and state courts throughout Georgia as well as in the juvenile courts. My approach to each case is that it is the most important case that I have because it certainly is to the client accused of committing a crime. I thoroughly investigate the facts and prepare the case, so that even if a negotiated plea, a "plea bargain," is accepted, it is the result of an active negotiation and mot just whatever the prosecution initially offered.

These cases, both personal and business-related, are the assorted matters in people's lives that they present to me as clients in search of resolutions to legal situations. It is these cases and clients that keep my professional life interesting. I approach each case with the utmost concern for my client's well-being, legal and otherwise. I communicate to each client what I see is his or her legal standing in a matter and present what I think is a realistic expectation as to its resolution.

A citation may only cost a small fine, but the true financial consequences are felt through insurance premium increases that can last for 3 years. Even more so, the penalties for drivers under 21 years of age are tougher than for those drivers 21 or over, including points suspensions. For all drivers, a DUI conviction includes a fine, license suspension, DUI school, alcohol treatment as well as other penalties.

I handle both sides of disputes and lawsuits in personal and business settings. I do this by offering a full range of services from writing a "lawyer letter" and making a phone call or two, to mediation or arbitration, and to conducting either a full-blown jury or bench trial in Georgia's trial courts. If an appeal is necessary, I have that experience as well.
