Monica was hired to protect my children, yet she fulfilled nothing she promised. She did a good sales job to secure the first big retainer and then blew through that money with no results except nunerous emails. She used a team approach which ended up costing more than when I had a single attorney wo...rking for me later. I paid Monica more in 3 months of working against me than I paid another attorney that actually worked hard for me for over a year after Monica. Run don’t walk. She was actually working with my ex-husband and had demonstrated little understanding or compassion toward children. She talks a good talk, but was more interested in burning through my retainer than helping me.

I used Ms. Hanrahan in a family law matter and she failed to provide me with all the information that was made available to her so I could make properly informed decisions in a timely manner thoughout the litigation process. The Judge even awarded $20,000 in attorney fees against me because the Judg...e stated Monica copied nearly verbatim the opposing parties complaint and pleadings in responses. I would not recommend this attorney as she seemed unable to effectively communicate matters with the court/judge and because she is the only attorney I've met that even billed for her time in sending out her own invoices.

If I could give her a negative score I definitely would. She didn't do anything for me even though I paid her good money for her services. I went through a divorce where I lost everything. My ex-husband kept everything including the car, the house, the savings, the investment accounts, furniture, co...mputer, pictures of myself.... I walked away with just some of my clothes. You may think that this is just material things that are not important in life, but at that time I also had a new job out of state and I asked Monica to keep my plans confidential (since my ex-husband had been physically abusive toward me), but instead she told my ex-husband where I was working and he contacted my boss' boss trying to cause me all kinds of problems. I had zero attorney-client privilege. I also wanted to change my last name since I was no longer married, and Monica told me that she will gladly help me with that for an additional $1500.00!! Horrible experience! I felt she didn't care about me.

If you are looking for an attorney who will lie, use unethical tactics, or waver on what is agreed on with you…Monica is Not for You. She tells you the truth, has the highest ethical standards, weighs options with you, keeps you informed, fights like you are family. When she takes you as a client, ...you become part of a team. Her entire staff is there for you. She is not like any attorney I've had experience with (nor heard of). She returns phone calls, e-mails and provides the support that is SO NEEDED when faced with the unknown, as in a divorce and all the legal mess that is involved. We had Many ups and downs, like a roller coaster ride. But Monica was there thru all the bad days and good, steady unwavering. We fought against extremely difficult "professionals", who dragged the process out almost 3 years, including an appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court - Which Monica WON Unanimously! This reference is not exaggerated and I would be happy to speak with anyone who has questions about her integrity and professionalism. The only client who would not be impressed with Monica Hanrahan and team, would be a dishonest one.

Monica represented out children in our divorce, and in my humble opinion, she did anything but best represent the children. It would appear that she a pre-conceived prejudice, and either misrepresented, ignored, or intentionally omitted facts and child statements. She was admonished by a judge in... the case to re-interview everyone, and to have defense counsel present for all subsequent interviews. In my opinion, it would not be advisable to employ her services.
