In doing my research, I found a since-removed Facebook post "Hey folks - anyone using DTMS and want to compare experiences? I was too polite to ask her about it specifically, and she never mentioned it. But, Ms. Hanrahan Freitag did seem a little off balance to me and that impression was reinforced by opinions I received from others. My divorce situation was already messy, both the financial and custody parts, and I wanted a lawyer with a steady hand (and mind). I did not hire Hanrahan Freitag.

Monica was hired to protect my children, yet she fulfilled nothing she promised. She did a good sales job to secure the first big retainer and then blew through that money with no results except nunerous emails. She used a team approach which ended up costing more than when I had a single attorney wo...rking for me later. I paid Monica more in 3 months of working against me than I paid another attorney that actually worked hard for me for over a year after Monica. Run don’t walk. She was actually working with my ex-husband and had demonstrated little understanding or compassion toward children. She talks a good talk, but was more interested in burning through my retainer than helping me.

I have once again turned to Monica Hanranhan Freitag and her fabulous team to assist me with a very complicated custody proceeding and a second divorce at them same time. I could write all day long and it still won’t be enough to praise how dedicated and fair Monica and her team are. I always believ...ed that my needs were met and that the firm was invested in me and my case. They were easily accessible, got back to me quickly, aggressive, and got me the results that I wanted. Monica and her staff all produced the qualities of attorney services that anyone would want when hiring a family law attorney. Monica represented me in a complicated custody case, not once but twice. She is a very smart and compassionate family attorney who knows the ends and outs of family law. Above all she is a great human being who genuinely cares for her clients. Not only have I found an excellent attorney but a great friend as well. Monica is selfless; she fights fair, just, and for what is right, especially when innocent children are caught in the ugly mess of divorce/custody battles and the other party is being extremely harsh, inconsiderate, vindictive and egotistic. These battles for me have not been easy, it has been an emotional, financial and physical roller coaster for me, but Monica and her team made sure to be there for me and my family and made the journey smoother for us. I highly recommend Monica and her team. Again, I can’t say enough wonderful things about Monica Hanranhan Freitag. I’ve never met an attorney who showed more integrity, honesty, warmth, and genuine concern towards her clients. She is highly responsive, extremely well versed in what she does and simply put, knows her stuff. If you want an attorney who does everything she promises and who genuinely cares about you and your family, Monica is the attorney you are looking for.

If I could give her a negative score I definitely would. She didn't do anything for me even though I paid her good money for her services. I went through a divorce where I lost everything. My ex-husband kept everything including the car, the house, the savings, the investment accounts, furniture, co...mputer, pictures of myself.... I walked away with just some of my clothes. You may think that this is just material things that are not important in life, but at that time I also had a new job out of state and I asked Monica to keep my plans confidential (since my ex-husband had been physically abusive toward me), but instead she told my ex-husband where I was working and he contacted my boss' boss trying to cause me all kinds of problems. I had zero attorney-client privilege. I also wanted to change my last name since I was no longer married, and Monica told me that she will gladly help me with that for an additional $1500.00!! Horrible experience! I felt she didn't care about me.

Awesome attorney – and compassionate! Monica is the best attorney I have ever worked with. My ex husband is a very difficult person, and I found it very hard to find the right attorney to work with the craziness that my ex creates. Monica stayed on track with the facts, pursued my rights and my ch...ildren’s interests to their fullest, and kept dignified in the process. When she speaks the judge listens. She was obviously respected by the decision maker – the judge. She successfully defended retaliatory motions for contempt from my ex and has maintained high levels of child support and alimony for me despite my ex’s attempt to be under employed and skip out on his obligations. Monica rocks – and she is fair in her billing!
