I have been working with Katie for around 14 months. She doesn't work at the weekends or after 5 o'clock - so don't assume you will get timely calls or response to urgent matters. More than half of the time she is not in the office. You have no way to reach her for talking in a timely manner. Let alo...ne, she never responds to your phone calls and emails even during business hours. When finally you get in touch with her, we decide about to-do or next steps but she doesn't follow through. I spend quite a bit of time defending her, because the opposing lawyer was always complaining that she doesn't timely respond to them either. Also Katie can be very mean when you disagree with her. She put me in several bad situations, because she didn't follow through the action items although we spoke a month or 15 days ago. She emotionally wore me down because I had to run after her to remind her about the deadlines and the action items, next steps etc. I think she is either over booked, or she doesn't care much about her clients. I felt like she was the client and I was the lawyer. Ask your lawyer, if he/she will respond timely, if they would be available when you need them, if they would follow through. Make your DD before you hire your divorce attorney.

I cannot say enough great things about Katie Connell. Thanks to her the most trying time of my life was made easier. Unfortunately my divorce involved a high profile criminal matter. Katie is simply excellent. A lawyer myself, I was prepared to point out shortcomings I see often in lawyers and was not going to accept in my first experience as a client. I hired Katie Connell in 2014 and employed her as my divorce attorney for 14 months. Katie failed to communicate with me in a timely manner routinely and ultimately failed to address my needs and concerns throughout the 14 month process, leading to unnecessary expenditures in finances, as well as my... emotional health. In the end, a reluctantly agreed upon flawed strategy failed, and wore me down emotionally, financially, and I never truly felt like my needs or my children's needs were represented, let alone heard or validated. I would not hire Kathleen Connell again, and would advise anyone to do proper due diligence if looking for an attorney to represent you, especially if your case involves even the slightest amount of contentiousness.
