Katherine S. Cornwell was born in northeast Georgia town of Toccoa, later moving to Clarkesville, Georgia, where she spent most of her formative years.
After graduating cum laude from New Hampshire’s Phillips Exeter Academy, Kate received her undergraduate degree in environmental studies from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where she was enrolled in the Carolina Honors Program. She then received her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she was both an honor court investigator and a notes editor for the school’s Journal of Intellectual Property Law. While in Athens at the University of Georgia, Kate interned for Superior Court Chief Judge Lawton Stephens.
Since her admission to the State Bar of Georgia in October 2012, Kate has practiced exclusively in the areas of family law and domestic litigation.
Outside of the office, Kate enjoys running, spinning and painting. She is also an avid fan of live music, attending various shows and venues around the state.
