Jennifer E. Ghorley

A native of Cherokee County, Jennifer E. Ghorley joined Hurley Elder Care Law in 2018. Jennifer graduated from The University of Alabama with a B.S. in Psychology. She attended Faulkner University, Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama, where she earned her J.D., as well as her LL.M. in Alternative Dispute Resolution.

While in law school, she participated in the Mediation Clinic where she mediated civil cases in district courts working to facilitate the negotiations of adverse parties and help to settle disputes through alternative dispute resolution. Jennifer also participated in Faulkner Law’s Elder Law Clinic, gaining experience serving families in the community and igniting her passion for Elder Law.

Jennifer is one of only twelve attorneys in the state of Georgia (and less than 500 nationwide) who have proven the enhanced knowledge, skills, experience, and proficiency to be properly identified to the public as a certified elder law attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF). She has also been named a Georgia Rising Star by Super Lawyers for consecutive years.

A leader in her field, she has published articles and conducted many lectures and seminars across her region on a variety of legal topics related to estate and life care planning. She has also served as past Secretary and now President-Elect of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (Georgia Chapter). She is a member of the Blue Ridge Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia, among her other professional affiliations.

Jennifer is also committed to serving her community through volunteer work. She was recognized as a Public Interest Fellow by her law school, and she continues her volunteer work as an active member of the Service League of Cherokee County, where she has committed to a ten-year service requirement.

Jennifer lives in Cherokee County with her husband, Graham. She is an avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan and enjoys cooking, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends in her free time.
