Atlanta divorce attorney John Leopard has been in practice since 1977! He continues to offer uncontested and contested divorce services at the most reasonable prices.
An uncontested divorce is $, or $ if children are involved. Attorney John Leopard will prepare the divorce documents for you and your spouse to sign. In an uncontested divorce, both parties will agree to all terms of the divorce agreement and will sign in front of a notary public. In most counties the parties need to attend a four hour seminar called "Families in Transition" or "Seminar for Divorcing Parents" before the judge will sign the Final Decree. There is a cost for this seminar.
A contested divorce requires an initial deposit of $1, (plus the court costs). This provides up to 7.5 case hours. In difficult divorce cases that exhaust the initial deposit, an hourly charge of $ will be incurred until the Final is entered.
The petitioner / plaintiff of the divorce will need to pay a filing fee in the county the divorce will be filed in:
(Filing fees can change without notice)
Clayton - $
Cobb - $
DeKalb - $
Fulton - $
Gwinnett - $
If the petitioner / plaintiff of the divorce does not know the location of his or her spouse, it is possible to obtain the divorce with service by publication. An affidavit of diligent search will be needed to show attempts to locate the spouse. There is an additional charge of $80.00 tp $ to publish the divorce in the legal section of the legal newspaper of the county.
