Sara Elizabeth Gheesling

Sara is an amazing attorney and I would recommend her to anyone. She's represented me multiple times over the years. She represented me on 2 separate DUIs in different counties. She got the first one dismissed completely. We had a motion hearing on the second one and after the hearing the prosecutor ...agreed to reduce it to a lesser charge. I'm so grateful for her help and everything she's done for me. She always made herself available to talk whenever I had questions and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process.

Sara has been on point from day one. I gave her the details of my situation of being charged of DUI, distracted driving, hand held device, and no insurance. Sara went right to work, very skilled at what she does as a lawyer!!!! To make a long story short, she got my DUI charge overturned!! NOT GUILT...Y!!! She got the distracted driving ticket thrown out. I only had to pay a small fine for the insurance and hand held device. I get to keep my license and I'm not on probation I'm not on probation. She is the best representation of a lawyer that I know!!!

I was arrested on suspicion of DUI and called Sara soon after. We talked through the circumstances of my case and Sara walked me through all the potential outcomes of my case and what I could do proactively the give me the best chance to get my charges reduced. I did everything she recommended and ...in the end we got my charges reduced to wreckless driving. Sara returned all of my calls and answered ever question I had honestly and realistically. She never blew any smoke my way. I don’t know how I could’ve gotten through this process without her.

If you are like me, the last thing you want in your life is to need an attorney. On the one hand, you might have big problems with charges in front of a judge. On the other, you can be incredibly stressed with having to deal with an attorney and the associated costs. We were incredibly fortunate to f...ind Sara, and both sides of our dilemma were addressed with care and professionalism at a very reasonable cost. My son's charges required multiple court appearances, both in Cherokee County and Athens-Clarke County. Sara made sure we knew what to expect every time, and she made sure my son was prepared for any questions the judge might ask. Every appearance, my son and I would look around the courtroom in surprise, because it was so obvious that most of the defendants were completely unprepared. It often seemed as if the attorneys were meeting their clients for the first time right there in court. It made us extremely grateful to have Sara on our side. My son's issues were drug and alcohol related. The Teen and Young Adult Defense Firm treated us more like family than clients. They helped us find rehab facility options, and facilitated my son's release from holding directly to an inpatient facility. The Firm presented several options with different pricing. I'm sure we received preferential fees at the rehab location due to being clients at the Firm. It was great having someone from the Firm who had visited the rehab facilities to help us with guidance for this big step. We were very worried about the charges in Athens. One was a felony, with two additional misdemeanors. I considered looking for a "local" attorney in Athens, but Sara assured us that she had a lot of experience there, and had dealt with judges and the prosecutor's office many times. The final disposition of our case could not have been more favorable. The felony was changed to a much less serious misdemeanor, and one of the other misdemeanors was dropped entirely. No jail time or fines were required, and the terms of probation were very favorable. We were extremely pleased because we heard the sentences of two very similar cases while we were in court waiting to be called. One was a local businessman, and the other was a young female student at UGA. Both were given what I considered to be severe sentences. When my son was called, I expected the worst. But Sara had done her job and had gone over the details and mitigating circumstances of my son's case with the prosecutor in advance, resulting in an outstanding outcome. I neglected to mention my son also had an unrelated, separate municipal charge pending in Athens that she also arranged to have completely dropped! The process was frightening, but we were never surprised at any point. Everything was explained to us completely and clearly ahead of time, including all required attorney's fees. I am so grateful that we had this law firm and Sara in our corner.

I've had Sara handle a couple of my court cases now and both with very positive results. I hired her for a Cobb county DUI in which I was CLEARLY guilty, and she worked to help get the sentence reduced. She did all of the leg work while I was on a job in VA! She would call weekly or bi-weekly and let... me know what was happening with my case. I ended up getting the minimum sentence, with approval from the judge to receive a work permit, and was immediately able to go back to work. The latest case I had Ms Gheesling work for me on was in Bartow county (over an hour from her office) and was being charged with a felony driving while licence suspended. She did TONS of research and found information that technically didn't allow the state to charge me with a felony... got my sentence reduced to a misdemeanor, AND helped me plea nolo so that it didn't count additional time against my license suspension. I got the minimum fines, and she even helped me get non-reporting probation. Killer attorney! I only wish I would have hired her for the case before last!!!! She's an amazingly talented young attorney, whom is an absolute Bulldog in court! A real pleasure to have worked with! A+++ Will DEFINITELY be calling her again if future needs arise!
