Got denied twice for SSDI. Called the Strong Arm! Brandy Citizen was my attorney. First phone call she ensured me that I had great chances of being approved. The hearing came and she guided me thru the questions and represented me and my disabilities very well. I got approved a week later! Great news... for me and my family. I hired a law firm to assist me in my Social Security mental health disability claim. I was assigned to Brandy Citizen. She has her Juris Doctorate and according to their website, she has represented thousands of disability clients. At first, I thought I got the Wonder Woman of Law. Unfortunately ...for me, I lost my case. While she may have been very qualified on paper, she wasn't very helpful to me during the hearing. She presented an opening remark and reminded me to tell the judge that I had trouble concentrating but other than that, 99% of the judge's line of questing was directed at me while she sat silently. Was she supposed to interject or add anything? I don't know but if she was, she didn't. What bothered me most about Attorney Citizen was the lack of interaction and communication. She had my case for eight months but I didn't meet her until the actual day of my hearing and for only 30 minutes prior. I primarily corresponded with the paralegal. I would not recommend Attorney Citizen if you have a social security mental health disability claim. I cannot comment on how she'd perform with physically disabling conditions. Lastly, if you hire her, know that her contract is written in such a way that you can't get another attorney if you are displeased. You will be stuck with her until you've exhausted all of your appeals. Furthermore, she doesn't represent you in Federal court but should you decide to take your case to federal court, she will not write a letter waiving fees for your new attorney. But then again, if you didn't win by that time, your best bet is to apply all over again. Federal court seldom overturns decisions. If I had to do it all over again, I'd get an attorney who ONLY deals with Social Security claims. Disability is Attorney Citizen's "practice area" and in my opinion, that just isn't enough.
