I hired him as my divorce attorney. I really thought he would do everything in my best interest but I was so wrong. When I filed in May with him he was supposed to set up alimony right away but he waited and I did not receive alimony until August. My husband and I reached an agreement on everything a...nd I contacted him to tell him. He sent me an email saying I should not settle. He persuaded me to keep fighting and make my husband produce 100’s of documents that would have taken months to produce and also racked up his fees. Finally I saw what he was billing me extra hours by not excepting his offer. I called it quits with him and told him my husband and I had agreed on a settlement and I would not need his services any longer. I paid his bill in full. We had put liens and or lis pendens on all off our properties. We had sold one of our homes after I released him but when we went to close I found out he had put a lien on it without my permission. We had to delay closing until he took it off. Of course he charged me! I paid him! Part of our settlement was for my ex- husband to buy me out of our other 2 properties. He went to change title on homes to give me the funds from them so I could buy a home and he had put a lis pendens or lien on the 2... which one was in my name only. He never was said anything to me about that. Every time I contact him about taking liens off he charges me and sends me a bill. I do not understand how this could be legal! He will milk you dry if he knows money is involved! He is not one of the good ones!
