I don't know what was worse his ethics or his staff to be exact his paralegal. Mr. Mitchell had a sit down talk with me I paid partial payment before ever signing any document. Then after realizing they didn't send over paper work for me to sign that indicated payment was non refundable they did so. There whole policy is for you to pay then for them to hold you accountable after the fact with documentation when in reality how do you agree to a binding contract you haven't received yet before paying. Even worse his paralegal had audacity to explain to me even if I never signed the contract he still would have kept $250 for his time. That's funny cause a big majority of lawyers do free consultation now a days especially him which he indicated in our first meeting (which lasted 20 minutes). The reason I know he did NOTHING for my case which why I feel like him keeping my money is unethical. First of is because before I ever came in he gave me a list of documents to retrieve so he wouldn't have too I had to take off work (Losing Money) and go to multiple facilities to get to save him "TIME." The truth is if I would have gone into his office decided I didn't want to use him and left out the reality I would have never received a $250 bill but the fact I paid him and he did ABSOLUTELY NO WORK on my case he felt entitled to keep my money cause of his "TIME." Not to mention the whole reason for me asking to return money had nothing to do with his skills as an attorney. It had everything to do with me calling him 2 and a half weeks outside my case when I had paid him well over month ago and he asked me when was my court date.? That was final straw this may not be the most important case for you but by far it's the only trouble I have been in and most important case for me that's was unacceptable. The least he could have done is say let me review your file and get back with you not ask me when was my case which showed he didn't even look at it. Also when I asked a friend about a similar situation he was involved in and told mr. Mitchell not only did he get upset he tried to end our call saying, "Why are you asking other people only person you need to talk to is me." I could see him telling me I need to come in as a non paid client but I paid you and my questions are direct why can't you answer over phone. When in fact he NEVER called me in 30 days to ask me anything or lower my worries but when I ask someone else it's a problem I didn't even seek other legal advice it was from a friend. I really could see if he had to drive all over town collecting document sit down with me multiple times and he say he is charging $250 because of his "TIME" I could understand. The fact I know he didn't but still charged me like he did is why I highly suggest taking situations like this into consideration before seeking his legal help.
