Jared provides practical guidance to in-house counsel and human resources and benefits personnel on the technical aspects of retirement and health and welfare plans. This guidance includes:

• Helping clients maintain compliance with the many federal, state and local laws that impact their benefit plans, such as ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, DOMA and Health Care Reform.
  
  
• Assisting plan sponsors in connection with IRS and DOL programs, including correction of operational and plan document failures, excise tax reporting, FICA tax refunds and determination letter applications.
  
  
• Counseling clients regarding the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of their qualified plans, including matters related to corporate transactions, fiduciary duties and reporting obligations.
  
  
• Preparing and amending plan documents, summary plan descriptions, policies, participant communications and agency disclosures.
