Austin is an expert on insurance coverage issues. He has been published nationally and spoken all over the country, sharing his insight on a variety of insurance coverage topics. He’s also served as a contributor and editor for the preeminent authority on insurance coverage in Georgia, Georgia Property and Liability Insurance Law.
Austin graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law and ranked first in his class in Contracts and Civil Procedure. He competed nationally in moot court, was a finalist in the J. Melvin England Mock Trial Competition, and balanced law school with his commitment to the Air Force ROTC.
Post-graduation, Austin moved to Montgomery, Alabama to serve at Maxwell AFB as part of the 42 ABW JA. During his time as an active duty officer, he cut his teeth trying cases in his role as a criminal prosecutor and served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama.
After fulfilling his military commitment, Austin moved to Atlanta, Georgia to begin his civil litigation practice. He worked as an associate at Dentons US LLP, an international law firm with more than 1,200 lawyers in the United States. While there, Austin defended large companies, including insurance companies, in personal injury, insurance coverage matters, and a variety of commercial litigation cases.
