Angela Katherine Marino

Angela provides practical guidance to in-house counsel and human resources and benefits personnel on the technical aspects of retirement and health and welfare plans. This includes:

• Working with employers on a broad array of issues relating to tax qualified retirement plans, such as plan design, drafting, operation, participant communications, agency audits and inquiries, and compliance with ERISA’s fiduciary responsibility provisions.
• Counseling employers on sponsoring self-funded plans with respect to their obligations under Health Care Reform, ERISA, HIPAA and other federal laws that regulate health and welfare plans.
• Advising employers on issues arising out of various employment-related agreements, such as restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements and releases.

Employee benefits law often requires a preemptive approach. Angela’s work on the compliance side allows her to identity clients’ potential areas of concern before a problem actually occurs. When problems arise, Angela is adept at finding practical solutions that address the legal issues while accommodating the client’s business needs.

Angela is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
