I am a construction lawyer and commercial litigation attorney, and I have been for my entire career. In my practice, I have handled a number of larger cases related to hotel projects, multi-family mixed use projects, school construction programs, and site/civil disputes. As part of my practice, I have also reviewed, drafted, and revised contracts for large commercial and multifamily residential projects, with a focus on identifying and reducing risks inherent in the construction process for my clients.
As part of my litigation background, I have tried several cases to juries as lead counsel and as second chair. As a construction litigator, arbitration and mediation are a crucial part of my practice, and I have had significant successes in both avenues in dealing with design errors/omissions, construction defects, and delay claims, among the many cases I have handled.
In contractual negotiations, I have represented developers in drafting and negotiating construction management agreements for office building development, assisted-living facilities and large condominium projects located in the Southeastern United States. I have also counseled owners involved with default terminations of non-performing general contractors, including issues related to a multistate hotel renovation program.
I have spoken and written frequently on construction issues, as my biography details. If you are interested in receiving a copy of something I have written, please let me know,
In other cases that are not in the construction industry, I have handled a variety of complex commercial litigation cases involving allegations of auditor malpractice, hedge fund mismanagement, and franchisor/franchisee disputes.
In my spare time, I closely follow college football. I enjoy collecting sports memorabilia and writing about sports when I can.
