She worked as a CSI for almost 10 years with a metro Atlanta police agency where she processed all types of crime scenes including burglary cases, death cases, fire investigation cases, theft cases, and investigated various types of cases. During the investigation, she collected evidence from the scene, took it back to the lab, and processed it forensically. The forensic evaluation included analysis for trace evidence, DNA, fingerprints, blood spatter, and scene analysis. The analysis also included documenting the collected items using photography, various powers, various chemicals, alternate light sources, and a whole lot of forensic analysis that would bore you. The collected items were then submitted to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations for additional investigations. She also testified as an expert on crime scenes.

Attorney Cummings is also certified as a Marijuana Identification Technician. She attended the annual training required to identify green leafy material as Marijuana from 2002 to 2010. Attorney Cummings has used this knowledge to win numerous Marijuana cases.
