Life Saver

Attorney Derek Wright is an amazing attorney. He is extremely knowledgeable, charismatic which is a great characteristic to have during a trial, he pays attention to the smallest details, and he thinks quickly on his feet. I had 6 felony charges with a maximum sentence of 65 years I was found not gu...ilty of all six charges. I will forever be grateful for Derek's hardwork and dedication in regards to my case. He also worked with me in regards to a payment plan. I will definitely refer him to anyone that is in need of a criminal defense attorney. I thank god but I also thank Derek for giving me my life back.

Great Attorney

Derek Wright represented my fiance and he was very knowledgeable and professional. He was honest with us and never promised to do anything that he couldn't. We are extremely grateful, and thanks to him my fiance is home with his family.

A Real Life Gladiator

Mr. Wright is an exceptional attorney. Mr. Wright handled my sons case professionally and kept me comfortable by walking me through each phase of the process as we took each step. He was exceptional at listening to me and converting my lack of legal understanding to a comprehensible level. Mr Wrig...ht's conduct was always professional and respectful. He was very knowledgeable, and my son was acquitted on all counts against him (armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm). I hold him in the highest esteem, and would recommend him to anyone in need of a Criminal attorney who is battle tested and a Gladiator in the court room.

STAY AWAY,VERY UNSCRUPULOUS!

I contacted this attorney after my vehicle was damaged in the city of Atlanta, he spoke very eloquently and requested $500 to start the process of recovering the cost of my repairs. Immediately after I paid the $500, attorney Wright stopped answering my calls and emails. He had initially told me that... he expected to be able to settle my case in a few wks, however I never received a settlement and finally got an email from him 2 months later requesting additional monies.

This client tried for several months to resolve his claim against the Darlington and/or the City of Atlanta. In sum, his car was damaged by a drain in the Darlington driveway. He tried to make claims against both the City of Atlanta and the Darlington and neither would accept responsibility for the drain. He hired me for just $500 to see if I could make headway since he was unable to obtain results. First, I filed an ante litem letter with Atlanta. Atlanta would have delayed him past the statute of limitations and without an ante litem he would have been out of luck. The Darlington sent me their insurance information. As such two things were accomplished he was unable to do. Yet, neither would enter into settlement negotiations. I advised a lawsuit was needed and indicated more fees would be necessary. Suddenly, I was terminated and a credit card payment reversed. And this client calls me names, really? I leave him to his own karma.

Not a good lawyer

I would not recommend this lawyer to someone who is very concerned about their case. He is not very good at informing his clients about the case and is usually not good about answering phone call. Although, he does leave messages when he calls back , he is vague and does not leave details. After my c...onsultation with him, he told us exactly what he was going to do and a time span but failed to comply with his word. During my case he took a 10 day vacation and after promising to work on our case during his vacation , he did not return any phone calls and we knew nothing about a hearing that was set on Monday (during his vacation) . He seems very optimistic in person but once gone, it is very hard to trust him .

Not enough information to determine who this is. I do not take retainers then go on vacations when the client’s case is scheduled on the same day. For this reason, I have no recollection of this ever happening and I am unable to ascertain who this is. Might I inquire what happened with the case? Where and What result? Unfortunately, without knowing more I cannot either acknowledge fault and improve on my practice or demonstrate that the review is not based on objective opinion. I respectfully invite the reviewer to provide more information.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2006.

Review Panel Reprimand issued in GA, 2006

updated on 05/19/2010

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case, the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
