Not sure what’s going on, but highly disappointed

I have dealed with Derek several times and have recommended him to a few people I know. He had always been solid with me and responsive. In February 2022 I called and asked him about filing a divorce for me. He told me he could do it and to send him the details he needed with $700 to start the filing.... I cashapped him the money and things went radio silent. I reached out a couple time, sometimes he responds, most of the time he doesn’t. It’s been two months and I can’t find anything with the courts regarding my divorce. I reached out to the State of Georgia Bar and they advised me to send either an email or a certified letter to Derek(Contact the Client Assistance Program at 404-527-8759.). After that file a grievance with them (https://www.gabar.org/forthepublic/fileacomplaint.cfm). I’m one step away from filing the complaint, but all I want is my money back or proof that the divorce has been filed.

Best Lawyer Atlanta has to offer!!!!

I hired attorney Wright for several different cases. The first was a case against my landlord. Mr.Wright not only kept me informed of my rights and up to speed on the currect laws concerning my case. The end result was great not only did i win against the landlord who filed against me;I was awarded a ...judgement against the landlord. I also had a few civil cases against another person for harassment and stalking. Mr.Wright respresented me and I was grated a Tpo against the person for 12 months. He also filed my annulment which was quick professional and done in a timely manner. I have since referred attorney Wright to several friends and family. One client I referred went for a divorce. After going to battle against his clients wife in trial. Not only did his client get granted a divorce he also won primary custody of his two minor children. I am extremely pleased with him!!!

Excellent Attorney!

Mr. Wright was my divorce attorney. I was married for 23 years and I have 2 boys in college. My divorce was very emotional and stressful. He had clear expectations from day one. I was very impressed the day I hired him. He really fought on my behalf and produce results. He was responsive, attenti...ve, thorough and dependable. He helped me achieve a very fair and reasonable settlement. I am very happy with the outcome of my case and I highly recommend Mr. Wright's excellent legal services!

Worthless Lawyer

I used this lawyer for my divorce and he has been totally poor in communication, and finishing his job. I would never ever recommend him not even to my worst enemy.

Not enough information to determine who this is. I would gladly respond, so please provide more information. I own any mistakes I may make in my practice or in life. I will defend against unjust and inaccurate reviews or allegations. You don’t have put your name, but give enough information so I know who you are. I am not allowed to call you out by name, but I will certainly respond to allegations that contain allegations of specific actions or omissions as opposed to generalized conclusions.

My life attorney

I met this attorney back in 2000 while sitting in the courtroom waiting for my case to be call. We had NEVER talked or seen each other before then. He was actually there to represent someone else. He asked me what was I there for aftering talking he said I'll take your case, both cases, only charg...ed me 1/8 what everyone else wanted to charge me for 1 case. He told me he would get them both dismissed. Yes, he was hard to reach at times, I wasn't his only client, Yes he was late for arraignment, but he got there and got the 1st case dismissed. The second case he informed me late in the evening we were going to trial the following morning. I am proud to say that case was also thrown out. He did exactly what he sai. It's called patience. Now he's handling my divorce and I'm not worried at all. No one is perfect. So he made a mistake. Ye without sin cast the first stone..

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2006.

Review Panel Reprimand issued in GA, 2006

updated on 05/19/2010

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case, the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
