Disappointed with Kimberly Mowbray / Georgia Probate Law Group — Expensive and Unproductive Experience:

I hired Kimberly Mowbray / Georgia Probate Law Group (GPLG) to help with the removal of trustees. After paying approximately $9,400, no documents had been filed with the court and there was no meaningful progress on my case. My assigned attorney, Kimberly Mowbray, appeared unfamiliar with key prob...ate procedures such as the applicable statute of limitations and which court filings were required. Despite being billed at over $400 per hour, much of the invoicing reflected “research time” and lengthy recap emails — even after I requested that those not be sent. I ultimately filed a grievance with the State Bar of Georgia, but they determined there wasn’t sufficient evidence of a legal ethics violation. While that was disappointing, I later hired a different attorney who resolved the same matter for roughly half the cost and far greater results. Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone considering GPLG to carefully review other clients’ feedback, request detailed billing updates early on, and make sure you understand what actions are actually being taken on your case.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
