Charles Merritt Lane

I was born and raised in Carrollton, Georgia, and graduated from Furman University with a B.A. degree. I then received my law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. From 2002 to 2005, I was an Assistant District Attorney for Georgia’s Coweta Judicial Circuit. I've handled hundreds of cases and received many successful trial verdicts during my tenure as a prosecutor. In 2002, I was admitted to the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court, and the Northern District of Georgia.

Before starting my private practice in 2021, I was a partner at a law firm in Carrollton from 2010 to 2021 with a premier estate and litigation firm. For the last 20 years, I have handled hundreds of civil cases such as personal injury, family law, contract disputes, estate & trust disputes, to criminal cases such as aggravated assaults and drug trafficking cases. 

During 2017-2020, I served on the Carrollton City Council and numerous civic and charitable organizations such as Carrollton Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

My wife, Corbett, and I live in Carrollton and have three children. We are proud members of the Carrolton First Methodist Church.
