I was on probation in Rockdale County for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon when I was falsely charged with 6 counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault and 6 counts of Child Molestation. All serious felonies and looking at life if convicted. Firstly, the charges in Dekalb triggered a Revocation o...f Probation in Rockdale where the Judge could have turned my probation into serving 10 years in prison. Then in Dekalb the prosecutor felt the case was problematic for the state to take to trial but didn't want to dismiss the case. Attorney Matthews arranged it so that I could take an Alford Plea which basically is saying that I was able to maintain my innocence and say that I did not do any of the allegations but I didn't want to chance taking the case to trial to leave my fate up to 12 jurors. I was facing life in prison and given 5 years misdemeanor probation. No Jail Time.
