After working in a domestic practice where she prosecuted child support cases and assisted with the registration and review of orders, Rebecca Tam decided she wanted to join a domestic litigation firm where her talents and experience could be put to use.

“I enjoy being able to provide guidance and support through my legal knowledge and experience, especially during such a tumultuous period in my clients’ lives,” Ms. Tam said.

Ms. Tam strongly believes that understanding and listening to clients’ ideas and expectations from the beginning is fundamental when working on a case.

“It’s crucial that I understand my clients’ goals and expectations while they are going through a divorce,” she said. “Knowing this information helps me to prepare the case and tailor the process to represent my clients’ interests.”

Knowing that communication with her clients is key, Ms. Tam is also a believer in being clear from the first meeting.

“I say, ‘As your legal counsel and advocate, I understand this this is a difficult process,” Ms. Tam said. “‘But I am here to guide you every step of the way and make it as painless as possible.'”
