Outstanding and Highly Recommended

When I first decided to file for SSDI, everyone told me I needed a lawyer. I had never hired a lawyer before so I asked my parents for advice. They set me up with a disability attorney who was a friend of a family friend. I thought I’d be fine. Unfortunately, a few weeks before my scheduled hearing, ...this lawyer dropped my case. I panicked. I was abandoned at a critical time. Luckily I came across Thomas O’Brien’s profile on AVVO.com. He had a lot of client reviews and they were all excellent. Most importantly, one of the first reviews I read was from a client who had been in my situation and had a favorable outcome (first lawyer dropped the case shortly before the hearing and Thomas O’Brien saved the day). So I called Mr. O’Brien’s office. I spoke with Tracy Sugg, his paralegal. I told her my story. She’s the best. Tracy immediately put me at ease with her compassion, knowledge, thoroughness, and clarity. Most importantly, she expressed confidence in my case, which renewed my confidence that I had lost after my previous attorney had dumped me. So we got to work. First Tracy helped me get a continuance for my hearing. Then Tracy and her coworker, Siana, worked with me to gather all of my medical records from my various doctors (no small task!). The medical records form the bulk of any case, so this evidence gathering is extremely important. I am very grateful for the hard work Tracy and Siana did on my behalf. I felt well taken care of every step of the way. Whenever I called Mr. O’Brien, Tracy, or Siana, they would either pick up or return my call promptly (which is something that didn’t always happen with my first attorney’s office). A few weeks before my new hearing date, Mr. O’Brien prepared me for what kinds of questions the judge would ask. Based on the evidence Tracy and Siana had gathered, Mr. O’Brien reiterated that I had a very strong case. He used this evidence to file a brief with the judge. All of the prep paid off. On the day of the hearing, Mr. O’Brien and I walked into that courtroom 100% ready. Mr. O’Brien couldn’t have presented my case to the judge any better. He is very talented. And I couldn’t have received a better outcome: The judge issued a bench decision in my favor. Bottom line: Thomas O’Brien and his support team (Tracy and Siana) are effective, efficient, professional, thorough, knowledgeable, polite, and compassionate. They're everything you want. If you need a disability attorney, I recommend you give their office a call today.

Excellent, professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. THANK YOU! I am forever grateful.

Excellent! I was in a very bad situation, I filed the case myself and was rejected, then hired an attorney specialized in SSDI. I thought he and his team were take care of it for me. Only, I was surprised by the 1st attorney’s paralegal just 2-3 days before the hearing, he fired me and told me tha...t he can not represent me in the hearing. Was not able to speak with the attorney, nor was provided any specific reasons. I called the court and explained my situation, and was granted continuance, in the mean time was told this is only continuance I was going to get and the judge was not very happy. Call my families and friends for suggestion, and finally found Mr. O’Brien’s information and wonderful reviews. Called the number, spoke with Ms. Tracy Suggs right away, after explained my situation and my conditions. By the way, Ms. Suggs was beyond wonderful, what a sweet heart with lots of love and patience. The case was moved forward, Mr. O’Brien and Ms. Suggs was on top of it, kept me informed, and obtained all necessary documents themselves. I practically did nothing but kept up the doctor’s visits, medicines, rests, and sleeps. Went to hearing few months later and was granted FULLY FAVORABLE decision. Can not ask for better team than Mr. O’Brien and Ms. Suggs, they are prompt, professional, courteous, knowledge, and honest. From initial and repeated denials and fired by my previous attorney, I was fortunate to have a wonderful and excellent team of Mr. O’Brien and Ms. Suggs. They walked me through the process and explained what to expect. I know I owe you more than just say THANK YOU, but from bottom of my heart THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I am forever grateful.

FINALLY - Approved -Thanks to Mr. O'Brien

The wonderful reviews Mr. O'Brien had was what originally led me to contact his office. I wasn"t interested in one of those "smoozy" t.v. attorneys. I had already been denied twice. I contacted his office on line and Mr. O'Brien contacted me although he was on vacation, now that's customer service! J...udy is Mr. O'Brien's right hand lady and she will be your primary contact. She works very hard at obtaining medical records and other pertinent information. Judy will need your cooperation in getting some of the information but let me tell you she gets a whole lot more of your information than she ever ask you to get. I don't know how she kept up with all of my medical records - there were A LOT of them. Typically you don't meet with Mr. O'Brien until very close to your judicial hearing. However, I wanted to meet the people I was entrusting my future with sooner than that. He gladly obliged and in that meeting walked me through what to expect through the rest of the process which is what I needed to hear. If you are just getting started in the disability process please know this is a LONG process. It took over 2 years for me to get my approval. However, this is not a system you want to navigate on your own. Mr. O'Brien and Judy know what needs to be done and they get it done! They have NO control over the time it takes that is the system not them. They are knowledgeable and honest people. Mr. O'Brien KNOWS disability law and he will work hard to get you what you deserve. I personally would rather still be working than to be disabled but when thrown the disability curve ball you want Mr. O'Brien to be your catcher!

Very happy with the outcome of my case

I have an autonomic disorder, and I applied for SSD benefits back in 2012. I was eventually denied and contacted Mr. O'Brien's firm to help me with my appeal. (I just Googled for firms that were close to my North Georgia home, and looked for good reviews. I don't think I found this site, however.)... The process of waiting for a hearing to be scheduled took well over a year, but it finally happened about a month ago and I'm thrilled to say that I received a favorable decision last week. I'm so relieved. Mr O'Brien seemed very well informed and knowledgeable, and did a great job of explaining to me what was happening and what to expect. Very personable. He was very professional during the actual hearing and seemed to have a good and friendly rapport with the judge. I felt like I was in good hands every time I had contact with Mr. O'Brien. I must also mention his assistant, (associate?) Tracy Sugg. She was the one that did a lot of the prep work for my case: Getting all my doctor's records together, filing paperwork, and most importantly, answering all my dumb questions over the many months this process took. She was great. She even helped me find cheap medical care after I became unable to afford my regular doctor. She and Thomas make a great team. As a layman, it's difficult for me to make a judgement about Mr. O'Brien's actual lawyer'n skills, but he succeeded in doing what I hired him to do, and was a pleasure to work with during the entire process. That's all I could have asked for.

Highly Recommend

After I was restructured out of a job, I retained Thomas O’Brien to review my severance package contract. Most of it seemed straight forward, but I wanted it looked over by a lawyer before signing. I’m glad I did. Thomas found several points of concern, which could potentially restrict my ability to ...find new employment and/or the type of employment I could accept. With Thomas’ council, I was able to negotiate more favorable terms of the contract with my former employer. I highly recommend Thomas O’Brien for clear concise legal advice.

"I endorse Thomas O'Brien. I had a medical billing insurance question and I couldn’t find an answer for my client after having spent hours reading through case law to find the answer. Through a google search, I found that Thomas had taught a seminar on the very same topic and I reached out to him and called. Not only did he return my call, but he spent 35 minutes on the phone explaining the law to me and helping me get past the place where I had been previously stuck. I am most appreciative and would feel confident referring clients to Thomas, as he is very knowledgeable and most helpful."
