Rutledge W. Jones

I was born and raised in Marietta, just five minutes from the Square. I enjoy spending time with friends and family at the many attractions and events that Marietta has to offer. From long hikes at Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield to Saturday mornings at the farmers market, the community of Marietta has it all. Being able to serve and give back to this community is an honor and makes my career rewarding.

I attended high school at Mount Paran Christian School where I made lasting friendships. After high school, I was fortunate enough to attend Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina on a baseball scholarship. Balancing a rigorous academic and athletic schedule taught me the values of organization and balance. I strive to incorporate the lessons I learned during my academic career into my daily practice as an attorney. After Furman, I attended law school at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. It was there that I strove to become a personal injury attorney. Fortunately, after graduation I passed the Georgia Bar Exam and immediately began practicing at the law offices of Jones & Swanson representing injured victims in their claims against negligent drivers, property owners and businesses.

Personal injury work has always been my desired profession. I find great satisfaction in helping members of my community who have suffered through some type of tragedy. This line of work is as much about the people as it is about the law. Our job is to assist and guide clients through complicated legal processes. At the same time, having compassion and empathy for an injured community member is important to me. I strive to make real and lasting relationships with my clients because I genuinely care about them.

When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me in Truist Park enjoying an Atlanta Braves game. I am a die-hard Atlanta sports fan, including the Falcons, Hawks, Atlanta United and Georgia Bulldogs. I also enjoy hunting and fishing with my friends and family. I like most outdoor activities.
