Carletta Elaine Sims

I was reffered to Carletta Sims through a family friend/ judge. The family friend/ judge and Carletta attended the same church. At the time I was trying to get my record expunged. ( little did I understand at the time was in the state of Ga prior to 2012, an expungement was not automatic after acquit...tal and could even be denied by the DA!) . However I'm sure mrs sims knew this. Me and my mother met her at Starbucks on cascade road. She made me feel very comfortable, even told me not to worry about having had been arrested because it doesn't define my character even compared it to her parents who were arrested back in the day for marching for civil rights! Anyway she said she would expunge my record and all we had to pay her was $250 because it was going to be a quick process. Long story short she stopped calling, emailing and answering her phone. It soon because clear she took my money! We reached out to our family friend and she was embarrass and apologetic ( keep in mind she knows mrs Simms from church, so she was also shocked at what we were telling her! She advised us to contact the State Bar of Georgia. We did as she instructed and went through this process for about 3 months. Basically they made her pay me my money back in full. I received a check in the mail for $250 addressed to me. I would also like it to be known this is the second written complaint I've made about mrs Simms. But somehow my first was deleted . It is on my heart to make my personal experience with mrs Simms . If she did this to a 21 year old college student that wanted to get her record expunged and was reffered by a PROMINET JUDGE FROM HER CHURCH, I'm sure I can't be the only one she has done something similar to. She didn't expect me to fight her for my money back she assumed I would let the $250 go but it was more the principal of the matter. Let me also say she took the case knowing the whole time that she wasn't going to be able to expungeme my record! Thank God the law changed about 1 year after this ordeal and I was able to do it myself!
