...and hired her for my divorce case. Having never experienced a divorce, I was expecting to get the metaphorical shaft based on the many divorce stories that friends of mine have been through albeit with a different attorney. Fortunately for my case, Tamela demonstrated advanced 11th dimension legal... jiu jitsu arguments and tactics which far exceeded any of my expectations. I still don't know how she turned what I already thought to be a completely lost case into an overwhelming legal win. Absolutely magic and worth every dollar. Aside from the highly unexpected "W", the only remotely frivolous thing I have to say about Tamela is that she sometimes takes 2-3 days to return my messages. Then again, I just have to reason with myself that a lawyer of her caliber very likely has many more clients besides me and the world - for better or worse - does not revolve around my life. So I remained patient, let her do her job, and could not be happier with the results.

I hired this attorney because she was rated the Best of Georgia in 2009. When I met her in 2009, she was nice and answered my questions. After that initial meeting, it was difficult to meet with her as she was typical out of the office. When I received mail from her office that I did not under...stand, a call to her paralegal did not resolve the situation. For example, the discovery request from the opposing attorney requested items going back over 10 years. I did not have those documents. But the brief letter from Adkins said that I needed to comply with the request. I also had questions regarding billing. When I showed up at her office and asked for a billing statement which I had never received, I was asked to leave! I made multiple attempts to get one statement but they were ignored. I never received a billing statement until I filed a complaint. The billing statement showed that I had a credit balance. According to my agreement, Adkins could keep 1/2 of the retainer. I had to file another complaint to get the remaining balance returned to me. In total, I had to write at least 6 letters to get my money returned.

Tamela Adkins is an amazing lawyer who actually cares about her clients. My only regret was that I did not use her as my attorney during my divorce. While going through a litigation months after my divorce I involving custody Ms. Adkins was recommended to me. She met with me within a day of contacti...ng her. She not only was able to represent me effectively from a legal standpoint she also put my mind at ease over what was a traumatic custody battle. I was able to reach both her and her paralegal with ease. Emails were answered very quickly answering all my questions and concerns.
