Thank you for everything!

Regina is an awesome attorney - very knowledgeable, well-prepared and professional. My situation was overwhelming to me, but Regina explained the process and what I could expect. I had used a different attorney in the past, and there is absolutely no comparison. Regina was thoroughly prepared and ...I felt confident heading into court. Definitely 5 stars for Regina!

Smart, fair, knowledgeable, and tough!!

I hired Regina 11 years ago to help me get custody of my son after the first attorney I hired only wanted to compromise. Regina wanted me to win and looked after the best interests of my son first. 10 years later I hired her again to help me get child support from the then absent mother, and we... won again. As soon as that ended I had to hire Regina a 3rd time to defend against a custody suit which I also won. She’s 3 for 3 with me and if I ever need an attorney again there’s no decision to be made, I’ll come talk to Regina. When she would question my ex-wife in court she was very tough and firm, wouldn’t let my ex get away with anything. That was fun to watch. I didn’t want someone in there always playing nice, I wanted someone like Regina who was nice until it was time to not be nice. The judges seem to love her and she’s been around long enough that she knows what each judge is like and what they’ll respond to. Hire Regina!

Best Lawyer you can find as a father going through a divorce

I hired Regina as my lawyer after my wife filed for divorce. I had a very high conflict spouse that went through several lawyers, would send numerous letters through her lawyers and overall only wanted to cause trouble for me. Please understand that Regina isn't there to hold your hand. She will te...ll you exactly what you need to hear. She tells the truth and doesn't hold back. I needed to hear what she was telling me and I think that most lawyers wouldn't even bother telling you what you need to know. I hired her as a flat rate fee lawyer in my divorce case and she helped me get through the process from filing to final in 5 months. I spent several days with her and a mediator to get this all finished. I wanted to just sign over everything and get it finished and she helped me protect myself. To defend me when I was attacked and just generally listening when I bugged her. I didn't fight for custody but I ended up with much more time than I started with. I would recommend her to any father or frankly any mother who is in a divorce needing help. I am very happy with the results and if I could start over and do the whole process again I would hire her the second time.

I do NOT recommend this attorney

I was a client of Regina Edwards in 2009 and 2010. I strongly recommend NOT working with Regina Edwards. She was unresponsive or slow to respond to my phone calls and emails. I would have to call or email multiple times - sometimes over a period of weeks, before I could get her to answer a questions ...or a request. She refused to accept calls on her cell phone. She sent a "substitute" attorney to my court hearings without first consulting with me. Her substitute, with whom I'd initially had very little interaction - was very unprepared to argue my case. Regina assured me that I would not be required to pay alimony because my spouse was employed and highly educated. Because of her advice, I agreed to go to court (instead of settling) to fight alimony. The judge awarded nearly 5 years of alimony + attorney's fees. Regina was condescending and argumentative with me - her customer - more often than not.The entire experience was regrettable. I do NOT recommend Regina Edwards.

All of the above is simply not true. I guess I was "slow" to respond to emails. If he sent one at 9:00 am and I had not responded by 9:30, I was getting a second one. I do not find it productive for me to be glued to my phone at all times. How would you feel if you were in court with your attorney and she was checking her phone and returning emails for other clients? There comes a time when every client gets my undivided attention. That can't happen every second of every day. My current wonderful clients recognize this and we have a great working experience.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

In reading the reviews I am not surprised. I would NEVER recommend this attorney to anyone ever! I wish i would have researched her before hiring and certainly before shelling out $7500. I strongly advise my friends to steer clear. She is only out for your money, very unprofessional and simply does n...ot care about her clients or the outcome of the case. I'm actually surprised she's still an attorney. Ever notice her office locations change frequently...why is that? And she is never in the office. FIND ANOTHER ATTORNEY DO NOT USE REGINA! Choosing Regina Edwards (Atlanta, GA) was one of the worst mistakes I have ever made. I would have been better off going it alone. I cannot imagine that the outcome or experience could have been worse than with Ms. Edwards. A few reasons why: Regina set up TWO separate hearings without so much as a phone call or email to me. She only notified me after the fact that we had a court date - the first of which, I vehemently opposed because I feared it would not be in my best interest. I was right. I got slapped with unreasonable payment requirements to my spouse while we awaited a final settlement. I was not given a choice or notified - just "be in court on X date". Then she didn't even show up to the hearing. She sent another attorney whom I had never met or approved of. She refused to take calls on her cell phone. She seldom returned calls in less than a week, and she was rude and NEVER accountable for her countless mistakes. Terrible advice, terrible service, terrible attorney. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

It's hard to respond when someone just decides to lie for whatever reason. I have never set up a hearing without consulting my client, nor would I ever. If the other side or the Court schedules a hearing, I cannot duck court, even when (unreasonably) asked to. I also cannot advise a client to avoid paying their spouse child support while the case is pending. That is unreasonable. I have an associate who has been an attorney for 7 years, and the clients are always told in advance whether it will be me or my associate at a hearing. This is just the ranting of an unreasonable person. When practicing divorce law, you sometimes end up representing unreasonable, miserable, vindictive people. Thankfully, 95% of my clients are wonderful people with whom I truly enjoy working. This was not of of those people. Please note the lack of specifics of these alleged "countless mistakes." That's because, frankly, I don't make any. After 15 years, I wouldn't have a 10 rating or a spotless bar complaint record. See below. http://www.gabar.org/MemberSearchDetail.cfm?ID=MjQxNTIy

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
