Be careful when you sign his contract. His taking 30% sounds attractive but it is 30% of ALL settlement including property damage and rental reimbursement, which most other good attorneys don't touch. My friend's car was totaled and he made the other insurance company send the check for her car to ...his office, where he took 30% off of that, which made her have less money to purchase another car. On top of that, she couldn't choose her own doctor for treatment. He needed to control that too! Needless to say, she fired this POS lawyer and hired a much better one.
