Aggressive Driving Dropped after Gun Brandashing Altercation

OUTCOME: Aggressive Driving Dismissed- No Jail

Client got into altercation with another rush hour driver which resulted in an accident and both drivers pulling over on the road's median. Other party reported that client then brandished a handgun w ... hile continuing to make threatening remarks. Initially, prosecutors wanted minimum of 15 days jail time. After through investigation and multiple negotiations with prosecutors, the aggressive driving (high and aggravated misdemeanor-automatic license suspension) was dropped and client was allowed to plead to minor traffic violation for accident liability purposes. No jail time, no $1,000 + fine imposed.

Client had accelerated vehicle into gas station store front causing approx. $15,000 in damage (insurance est.) as well as injuring two patrons of the store. Client fled scene in vehicle, never returni ... ng or calling any authorities; another store patron i.d. vehicle by plates. After being hired, I was, over time, able to contact all involved parties and make sure everyone was adequately taken care of for their losses. I then accompanied client to police station to 'sign' for charges after convincing officer to not take her to jail to be 'booked'. After lengthy pretrial conference with prosecutor explaining extenuating circumstances,etc., case was dismissed against client and she was allowed to pay a small fine and plea to a non-moving violation. (traffic offense)
