Hecht Family Law does not aim to genuinely solve clients' issues but rather complicates simple cases and delays them to drain clients' wallets. I am very dissatisfied with their services, especially with Ed and Bryson's performance. Throughout my case, I encountered numerous issues, including unreaso...nable high fees, lack of attention to the case, and poor customer service. First, the issues with fees are very serious. I noticed many charges were far above what I expected. For example: On October 31, 2023, there was a charge of $100.00 for a 0.20-hour session involving preparation and debriefing with Bryson about case strategy. Similarly, on January 3, 2024, a brief service process discussion was billed at $300.00 for just 0.60 hours. These instances suggest a high billing rate for tasks that appear to be quite brief. The initial meeting and subsequent activities on October 31, 2023 led to a bill of $1,550.00 for 3.10 hours of work. This includes preparing pleadings which seems quite substantial for the time reported. Frequent brief discussions, such as those on April 26, 2024, and April 29, 2024, have each been billed at $50.00 for merely 0.10 hours. The repetitive nature and brevity of these discussions raise concerns about their cumulative cost impact. It appears that every email and phone interaction, no matter how short, is being billed. This method of billing significantly increases the total cost, especially considering the high hourly rate. Secondly, the attention to the case and efficiency is also questionable. The billing reflects frequent, brief exchanges that may indicate less than optimal management of task efficiency, leading to unnecessary escalations in billing. Moreover, the quality of customer service is extremely poor. Ed showed great performance during the initial meeting but once the retainer check cleared, communication suddenly dropped, except for asking for more money. This approach is highly unprofessional, especially when handling important custody cases. I cannot recommend him for any significant legal matters. If he gets frustrated with you or your family, he will find ways to charge you, even by putting a lien on your property. Furthermore, Bryson showed extreme indifference and lack of responsibility while handling my case. He submitted case materials without my notarized signature and often made errors, including misspelling my name and my daughter's age, with numerous spelling mistakes in the legal documents. Worse, my attorney withdrew from my case without my consent, severely impacting my case. Bryson Hash and Hecht Family Law submitted unauthorized documents and failed to cancel discovery requests as I explicitly instructed, causing me unnecessary trouble and stress. Throughout the process, I also encountered the following unpleasant situations: They would deduct money without sending me a bill. It was only after repeated urging that they finally sent me a consolidated bill for two charges. Ed even lied that the bills had been sent earlier without providing any proof. When I inquired about the bill details, Ed threatened that if I continued to ask, they would withdraw from the case. Initially, I didn't understand and was afraid to ask further. Later, I sent two emails raising questions about the billing expenses, but they refused to respond. According to the service contract, I have the right to raise disputes within 7 days, but they did not reply to my dispute emails, forcing me to contact the bank for a dispute and notify Hecht by email. Overall, Hecht Family Law has issues not only with their billing practices but also with customer service and case management. If you are seeking legal services, please consider carefully. My experience shows that they are more interested in selling themselves than providing valuable legal support.

My wife and I hired Bryson and Ed to obtain custody of my daughters that were in an unsafe living situation with their biological mother. A custody hearing is a very stressful thing to go through. Bryson & Ed were always there for us every step of the way. From talking on the phone to police officers... while the police were at my home(on a weekend), to guiding me on how to immediately protect my kids and remove them from the unsafe situation to the most unbelievable outcome that we could have ever dreamed of. They are so good, that even though we now live several hours away from Atlanta, if I ever need a family law attorney again, I will seriously consider paying the expense of them traveling to my town for court. Yes, they are THAT good! I have and will continue to refer people I care about to Bryson.

I hired Bryson to assist with a grandparent visitation case. Bryson was knowledgeable about the law beyond any attorney I have ever seen in the family law area. Bryson was always prepared for court dates and always had a Plan B & C depending on what move opposing counsel made. Bryson would always tou...ch base with me before any court dates and let me know what the game plan was and listen to any feedback that I offered. Bryson really cared about my family situation and fought hard to get me the result I was seeking. In the end, he got exactly what I asked for during our first meeting - get the case dropped. I hired Bryson Hash and Ed Hecht in the middle of a VERY involved custody case. Bryson, Ed and the paralegal, Sharon understood and related to my domestic situation. I truly felt like Bryson was litigating and negotiating for what was right for me and my children. When I hired Bryson and Ed I gave ...them very little time to prepare. They all believed in my case and even met with me on a SUNDAY. For the first time in 3 years, I have felt like I’ve found a firm that actually believes in their duty to their client, and is not consumed with dollar signs. All of the associates with this firm are knowledgeable, attentive, compassionate, non judgmental, committed, team players, and most importantly….ACCESSIBLE! On 2/28/18 I retained Bryson as my legal counsel. Initially, it was his partner, Ed, however Ed felt Bryson was better suited for my case i.e. Domestic Violence and Visitation. Unfortunately, Bryson ended up being a disaster. If you're seeking an attorney who wil update you on any and changes on y...our case, provides you the opportunity to review motions before filings, returns emails/calls with a timely manner, addresses urgent legal matters speedily that greatly affects your case, is forthcoming, doesn't place you on the back burner due their own personal matters, remains professional until the end, admits and tries to correct his error and keeps you in the know of your case, then Bryson isn't the one. These are all the issues I experienced with Bryson. It's a horrible and nerve racking feeling to not know barely anything about your case unless having to habitually reach out. I had major changes on my case happening throughout that Bryson failed to address in a timely manner nor rectify. This drastically placed a financial hardship on me. To add insult to energy the money plus retainer was blown through quick without barely any work bring done on my behalf. I basically was left to defend myself. I ended up being pro se due to finances, however I could have saved so much for my daughter and I given I was left on my own, while his duty was to represent me. I felt alone, hurt and frustrated. In addition, though I was doing everything right by his own admission and the courts were seeing this he still continued to allow the opposing counsel to slander both I and my child. It's one thing to keep being the bigger person, however it's another when it allows bullying by opposing counsel. I realized that I no longer had funds to pay, notified Bryson and instead of contacting to inform me he wil withdraw from the case since I couldn't pay he first send out an email to all including my ex giving the impression that I fired them. I had to then reply all professionally informing that I couldn't financially afford legal counsel. It was embarrassing and I was blindsided. In addition, Bryson waited last minute to divulge information he received four months ago that painted a false image of my character. He is a bad person, but he's definitely not someone you would want on your team, especially representing you.
