Alyssa Bernadette Baskam

Alyssa has secured hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of individuals and families of individuals who have been catastrophically injured or killed as the result of others’ negligence. She is known for her canny and creative strategic mind, and has performed every vital role on a trial team. She is routinely brought into cases to brief complex dispositive issues for trial or appeal, as well as to help try cases, motions practice, and appellate advocacy Alyssa is routinely brought into cases at all stages of litigation, including to brief complex pretrial evidentiary issues, Daubert and other critical dispositive motions. Alyssa has been responsible for winning vital orders and developing key evidence posturing cases for trial, settlement, and otherwise protecting her clients’ recoveries against appeal. She helped secure more than $200 million in settlements in 2023 alone, including three 8-figure settlements and fourteen 7-figure settlements. One of her most recent cases resulted in a record-setting $162 million settlement for the tragic deaths of several women in a single-vehicle rollover. Other notable recent settlements include a record-setting $45 million settlement for a defective lift kit that paralyzed a young child, a $10 million truck wreck settlement involving broker liability claims, an $11 million product liability settlement stemming from the death of a young child, two $ 5 million truck wreck brain injury settlements three months apart, and a $19.5 million product liability settlement involving a vehicle fire. Alyssa’s prior co-counsel have credited her with more than doubling their case’s historic settlement values by being part of the team.

Alyssa has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star (only the top 2.5% of all lawyers receive this recognition) since 2019, a top 10 Personal Injury Attorney by Forbes since 2023, and was a 2017-2018 GTLA LEAD Class participant (only 15 selected from a large pool of applicants). She is licensed to practice in both Georgia and South Carolina.

Alyssa has also worked as an interim clerk for the Honorable Steve Jones, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Georgia.

Alyssa attended the University of North Carolina for college and then Emory University School of Law. She graduated from both with honors. While at Emory, she served as on the executive boards for the Emory Moot Court Society and the Emory Public Interest Committee. During college, Alyssa volunteered as a crisis hotline responder with HopeLine and at the Orange County Rape Crisis Center. It was these experiences and the desire to help individuals suffering through unspeakable tragedies that drew her to plaintiff’s work. Alyssa has built a reputation of working hard, working fast, and always going the extra mile for her clients.
