I knew from a young age I wanted to be an advocate, but I did not know in what capacity. As a first-generation student, I didn't know a lawyer personally until college, and I certainly knew little about the profound impact one can make by pursuing a legal career. I studied political science at DePaul University, where I graduated magna cum laude. My education taught me how important issues intersect with the law, and that lawyers are able to powerfully represent the silenced. I soon realized that becoming an attorney would be the perfect path to equip my passion for zealous advocacy. I took the leap, moved from Chicago to Georgia, and attended Mercer University School of Law. Shortly thereafter, I passed the Georgia Bar Exam and was admitted to practice in seven courts across the state.
My legal career did not commence after passing the Bar Exam. Instead, I began representing clients in my second year of law school under the Student Practice Rule through the Habeas Project legal clinic at Mercer University School of Law. I was court-appointed counsel for indigent clients in Georgia superior courts and successfully practiced before the Supreme Court of Georgia. That experience exposed me to an early preview of the practice of law and introduced me to the importance of diligent, meaningful representation guided by compassion.
Now, as a trial attorney, I have the privilege of continuing to advocate for others. I focus my practice on motor vehicle collisions, premises liability, food poisonings, wrongful death, and dog bite cases. In addition to being a voice, I take my roles as counselor and advisor seriously, with the promise that each client feels heard, cared about, and is well represented. My philosophy is that empathy and perseverance should remain at the heart of achieving meaningful recovery for those harmed by another’s negligence or wrongdoing. A career as an advocate is a profound responsibility, but it is one I use as a driving force in pursuing fair and just results for every client.
