Brandon Lewis

I was appointed to Mr. Lewis in a pending criminal case. During our interactions, I had questions regarding discovery, possible defenses, PTID requirements, costs, and the consequences of accepting or rejecting the State's offer. I did not feel that my concerns were fully addressed before being asked... to make a decision. During one phone conversation, when I continued asking questions about my case and options, my understanding was that Mr. Lewis told me, "I don't care what you do." I found that statement extremely concerning given the seriousness of the charges and the fact that I was trying to understand my legal options before making a decision that could affect my future. I left the conversation feeling dismissed, unheard, and without the guidance I was seeking from appointed counsel. Communication became difficult, and I did not feel confident that I had received meaningful answers to several important questions regarding discovery, PTID, probation requirements, and the strengths and weaknesses of the case.
