Incredible Trial Lawyer. Gave me hope where I had none.
Needs to be rated 6/5...
Years ago, I was charged with allegedly growing a small amount (less than 6 total) of cannabis plants. The podunk, backwater southern county where I chose to (allegedly) do this decided to charge me with THREE felonies, took my photograph during the arrest for the local "B...ad and Busted" gas station arrest tabloid (I don't know if they still do those horrible things) strip searched me, and held me for 72 hours without charging me... Oh, and the friend I was with.
This was a small county, but I was still surprised at how poorly we were treated... The cops were, to a man, unprofessional redneck bullies. The two GBI agents present falsely claimed to be FBI agents, used unlawful interrogation techniques on my friend, and loved yelling. They marched him through the woods, in the dark, in foot shackles, until his jail flip-flops were soaked with blood, to show them where "the rest of the plants were". (there weren't any) We were kept in a holding cell for 72 hours so they could scramble to find more evidence (they brought in a judge on a webcam to extend the 48 hour limit). Finally, I was ALLOWED to be bailed out... with 3 felonies..... and until then, I had an entirely clean record.
Obviously I was utterly panicked, I immediately began receiving letters from some kind of local county-fried vulture lawyers who promised a buddy-buddy relationship with the prosecutors that would somehow benefit me. When I thought about that critically though, how would their friendship benefit me? They'd compromise! I wanted a real attorney, someone to really fight for me, and a friend recommended Mr. Lewis.
Once I retained his services, Mr. Lewis stayed in contact with me throughout the minutiae of the process. He kept me calm, informed, and surprisingly ... Quickly managed to get ALL THREE charges dropped!!! Not just reduced, mind you - dropped. I never even saw the inside of a courtroom. I just received an upbeat phone call, some words of encouragement, and confirmation in the mail.
I'm pretty sure I did the happy dance after getting that call, and haven't been in any legal trouble since. Not only all of that? HE THREW MY FRIEND'S CASE IN FOR FREE (The guy the GBI agents bullied) because he had prior drug charges, and would only be able to get off with 6 months probation.
Brandon Lewis is truly an amazing human being doing God's work - And I'm not even religious!
