I am an AV-rated litigation attorney and Martindale-Hubbell Platinum Client Champion with first-chair jury trial experience at Hamilton Martens, LLC, a boutique litigation law firm located in Rock Hill, South Carolina. I generally focus my practice in the areas of civil and construction litigation, probate and fiduciary litigation, and estate and trust administration. I practice in both the state and the federal courts in South Carolina. In January 2023, I was elected a Member at Hamilton Martens. Before I joined Hamilton Martens, I practiced as an attorney for three years with a general practice law firm in York, South Carolina, where I practiced in the areas of civil and probate litigation, estate administration, estate planning, and business formation.
In addition to my 9+ years of experience in the private practice of law, I also have experience in administrative law. Shortly after being admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2015, I began working as a Hearing Officer for the South Carolina Department of Social Services in Columbia, South Carolina, a position that I held for nearly a year and a half and in which I adjudicated more than 500 administrative matters.
I am licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts in South Carolina. I am also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. I was sworn in and admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar in March 2019 by Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. in open court at the United States Supreme Court Building in Washington, D.C.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Wake Forest University and my Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Charlotte School of Law. I graduated in the Top 6 percent of my law school class, and during my last semester of law school, I served as a federal judicial extern in the Chambers of then-Chief United States District Judge Frank D. Whitney of the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.
